“Take My Hand, O Blessed Mother“
...Take my hand and lead me home.
It is with great sadness that the family of Marge Milu announces her passing, Marge will be sadly missed and forever remembered by so many. She lived a very long full life; she experienced it all, love, hope, joy, sadness, success, failures and yes even pain. She endured and embraced it all. Marge was married to the love of her life, Charlie, for 55 years.
Marge and Charlie were both born in Long Branch, New Jersey. They relocated to Florida in 1957 with four children in tow, which grew into a family of five children and eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren (one more on the way), and one great-great grandchild.
They raised their family in a happy and loving environment in Hialeah, Florida. Once the brood was grown and thriving they again relocated, this time to Okeechobee, Florida.
With Charlie being a talented and accomplished woodworker and Marge being talented crafter with great sewing skills, they opened "The Wood Shop" in the Big O Flea Market. They settled right in with the Okeechobee way of life. They continued their retirement in Okeechobee doing craft shows in the park, hosting Christmas parties and opening their decorated home at Christmas for donations to the American Cancer Society. We all made our way to Okeechobee to enjoy Mom's huge, delicious home cooked Thanksgiving dinners and at large Christmas celebrations with her famous breakfast.
Mom "Marge" was a very strong person and was an inspiration to us all. We thank her from the bottom of our hearts for all she has taught us.
Later in life she became a breast cancer survivor and we learned just how strong of a person she was. Even after losing her husband she never gave up, always showing courage, always being positive. Marge became a dedicated volunteer with the Okeechobee Red Cross, visiting fire sites and running shelters during the hurricane season. She loved her family dearly and made sure we all knew it, she was always thankful and grateful even in the hard times. Mom came down with a rare crippling disease in 2013 and then endured constant infusions, two broken hips and a broken femur but she bounced back every time with courage, love and laughter. We feel we are the luckiest family alive to have had her as our mother, protector, teacher and friend for as long as we did.
She is now at peace and taking her well deserved place with the Lord. Our hearts are sad for our loss and grateful that she is no longer suffering. Mom is now with God. Until we meet again, Love
Take my hand, O Blessed Mother. Hold me firmly lest I fall. If I’m nervous while I’m walking, Quickly heed my humble call. Guide me over every crossing, Watch me when I’m on the stairs. Let me know that you’re beside me, Listen to my fervent prayers. Bring me to my destination. Keep me safe along the way. Bless my every undertaking, And my duties for the day. When the evening draws upon me, I do not fear to be alone. Once again, O Blessed Mother, Take my hand and lead me home. Amen.
