I've always fished Braunig in the morning in the past, but today after a morning appointment it was so beautiful I decided to try an afternoon venture.
I got on the water around 1 pm and headed across the lake towards my recent success spots. I picked up my first red about 15 mins after I started trolling a 3/4 oz & 1 oz rat-l-trap along contours near underwater points. I was focusing on 15'-20' depths. I was getting hits on the smaller trap and because of the swivel setup I was getting fouled up in the front hook, so I reconfigured with a gold spoon. As it turned out, the spoon was the ticket for the day catching 7 out of the 10 fish. The tally included a 32", 29"and two 28" beauties. This was my second best day for total reds, but best day I've had for quality.
